    Full Polysomnography Test (PSG)

Polysomnography is an overnight sleep study that provides the information needed for the diagnosis of multiple sleep disorders including sleep apnea. It is considered to be the gold standard in sleep testing.

    Home Respiratory Polygraphy (HRP)

Home respiratory polygraphy commonly known as a home sleep study is a good alternative to polysomnography, as it is simpler and conducted in the confort of your home.

    Nocturnal saturometry

Nocturnal saturometry, also known as home oximetry, is performed in the confort of your home. A small monitor and its sensor  are placed on your finger to record your heart rate and blood oxygen saturation.

    In Clinic Manual titration

This test is just like polysomnography (PSG) but includes an adjustable ventilator that will determine the level of air pressure needed to treat your sleep apnea . It is an in-lab test, conducted under the constant supervision of a respiratory therapist.

    Iterative test

The iterative test, also known as the maintenance of wakefulness test, is useful in confirming a narcolepsy diagnosis. It’s an in-lab day test that is conducted under the constant surveillance of a respiratory therapist.

    Maintenance of wakefulness test

This test is used to evaluate the patient’s awakening capacity. Its main purpose is to evaluate  sleep apnea treatment efficiency.

How does a Sleep Study work ?

Sleep apnea and its severity are mainly diagnosed based on the number of disturbed respiratory events during sleep.

The sleep study results will establish your apnea hypopnea index (AHI) or respiratory disturbance index (RDI) that will determine the presence and the severity of your sleep apnea.
