Polysomnography is a sleep test that takes place in a clinic. I is used to diagnose sleep disorders. It records the patient’s brain waves, the blood oxygen level, heart rate, breathing and leg movements. It is also known as a Level 1 sleep test.
At home sleep test
The cardiorespiratory polygraph is a sleep test that is performed at home to identify sleep disorders. It records all breathing parameters while the patient sleeps to determine a diagnosis of sleep apnea. It is also known as a Level 3 sleep study.
Pulmonology Consultation
If you suffer from respiratory problems, a pulmonologist will perform a complete lung exam using procedures such as bloodwork, chest X-rays, CT scans and a sleep test to diagnose chronic lung or respiratory illness.
